Sales are up massively on 2007 with the new Spykee range being the best seller for 2008. The Design and Multi-models were also strong sellers in 2008 and with a slight tweak to the packaging this year promise to go from strength to strength in 2009.

The Kids Play range which is aimed at 2 years plus has not performed as well as the older age range Meccano categories probably due to the nuts and bolts theme to the toys appearing a little too complex and meccanical looking for infants of that age.
The Spykee range including the Spykee Spy robot and the smaller micro robot have been the most popular with the technology tapping into the media world and iPod music. Along with Wi-fi integration, the ability to remote control Spykee over the internet and self build theme, this looks like being a strong seller for 2009.
We may yet see a Meccano theme park (MeccanoLand) popping up over the next few years…if this uptrend continues.
